Also known as Becca; Catherine is my primary pen name as well as my middle name. I am moderately successful as a poet in English, having recently appeared in an anthology that was favorably reviewed by the Boston Globe. I also have had three poems in the main Interlingua magazine, Panorama in Interlingua.
Today in my boredom I bring you… Incubus! Laŭvorte!
Most of you Esperantists know that Incubus is a movie in Esperanto. More or less. It’s pretty bad Esperanto. So I took some clips of the film and tried to sub it with the “Esperanto” that comes from the actors’ mouths as best as I could.
It is such a strange movie. In and of itself, it has some merit (though it isn’t really my style of flick), but it can be hard to focus on the story when people are speaking so poorly.
While wandering around what there is of the Láadan community, past and present, I’ve found a couple instances of TERFs talking about how trans women aren’t REAL women, and this makes me mad. That’s why I wrote this short story.
I hope that our new Láadan community will be much more accepting and progressive than some of the old. In fact, the Láadanists I know personally are all pro-LGBTQIA+ and we would welcome anyone into the community that is also respectful of others. :]
I will add lessons later as I expand the lessons section on the WikiBook. Many of these pages simply embed the WikiBook pages for now, since everything will probably change as it is being worked on. In the future, I can make this a totally online version, but with all the potential changes, I’d prefer to only update one location right now.
The dictionary is built into the phone, though. It is pretty simple and will be enhanced later on, but it is good for looking up specific words.
